Course Overview
You are worth risking creativity.
Visual Journaling is a pathway of connection and creativity where you document your history and process with God in visual terms. Instead of journaling with words, you use visual forms of expression (such as painting, drawing, etc.) to record your life and commune with God.
We have found visual journaling to be an avenue to cultivate stillness, contemplation, and creativity in your times with the Lord. It is also a practice that can foster connection with family and friends. Ultimately, our hope is to give you a resource to practice creativity and enter into joy as a child of God.
Visual Journaling is a cornerstone rhythm in our 18 Inch Journey
school. Our students create and document bi-weekly in a leather-bound journal that we
fondly refer to as a History Book.
Over the years, we
have taught this practice to hundreds of people who have come to our
schools and retreats because we believe that our lives and histories
with God are worth recording.

The words "artist" and "creative" have become so intertwined that people
find if they are not gifted in singing, drawing, or writing that they
are excluded from being creative. Being an artist is an occupation.
Creativity is a gift God bestowed upon humanity from day one. Your
calling as a human is to live a creative life—to marry creativity to the
places where you invest your time, whether it be as a mother, pastor,
